Football Strength & Conditioning Training

We are including Strength & Conditioning Training for all Tackle Players that are registered for our 2018 season. All sessions will be run by Athletes' Training CenterAthletes’ Training Center has been on the cutting edge of strength and conditioning since its inception in 2009.   3rd-6th Grade players will receive 1 day of S&C training per week, and 7th and 8th Grade players will receive 2 days of S&C training per week (see Football 7th/8th S&C page). For those registered for our tackle program, login credentials will be created and sent to families so that they can select the day(s) that they would like to participate, based on session availability.  The credentials and link to the facility's ESoft registration will be sent as we approach mid March. S&C Training for tackle players will begin in late March will run through mid July,

The S&C program will also be available for all our NFL Flag Players.  NFL Flag and Girls NFL Flag (3rd to 8th grade) player's Strength and Conditioning training will run July and August.  All sessions will be run by Athletes' Training Center.  For those registered in our 2018 Flag football programs, login credentials will be created and sent to families so that they can select the day(s) that they would like to participate, based on session availability.  The credentials and link to the facility's ESoft registration will be sent as we approach the Flag Registration Deadline of June 15 (returning players) and July 1 (new players).  Registered NFL Flag players will be able to select the day of the week that works best with their schedule for each month, based on session availability.  Login credentials will be needed in order to make those selections and purchase additional days of S&C training.

About the Company

Athletes’ Training Center has been on the cutting edge of strength and conditioning since its inception in 2009.  

Led by Director of Sports Performance Trenton Clausen, the team of performance coaches are second to none in the Midwest.  The training methodology is a proven approach and there is always a mindful eye on injury reduction strategies and keeping kids safe.

About the Training

Each session will be limited to 24 athletes or less and will be staffed by two performance coaches.  This is important for keeping a good coach to athlete ratio.  This approach yields far better results for each athlete as well as promotes safety.

During each session athletes will begin by performing a dynamic warm-up with specific attention to neural preparation activities to maximize their training time.  Then, they will begin a curriculum of plyometric, speed development, and explosive power activities focused on developing quick, powerful athletes.  Most importantly though, all activities are age appropriate and based on the developmental stages of growing kids to keep them safe. 

To get the most out of training, a consistent approach over time is crucial. 

Athletes that make an effort to attend their sessions on a regular and consistent basis each week will see the best results.

About the Coaching Team

All performance coaches at Athletes’ Training Center have, at minimum, a Bachelor’s degree and maintain or are working towards the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification.  (This is the only credential in the fitness industry that requires continuing education and the credential held by college and professional coaches).  Many of them have or are working towards their Master’s degree, as well as have a collective wealth of experience from impactful internships.

All programming and coaching development specific to Millard United is overseen by Director of Sports Performance Trenton Clausen, MA, CSCS, USAW-L2SP.  His experience includes:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition, Exercise and Health Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
  • Master of Arts in Physical Education and Sports Coaching from Ball State University
  • Internships at University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Texas Christian University (TCU)
  • Mentorship with Exos (formerly Athletes Performance)
  • Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of Maryland working with the football, baseball, and track & field teams
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) credentials through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
  • USA Weightlifting National Coach and Level 2 Advanced Sports Performance Coach.
  • Level 1 certifications through both Precision Nutrition and Functional Movement Systems.
  • He has experience coaching middle school, high school, Division 1, NFL, and MLB athletes across the country.
